Another Sailor Moon Shout-out from Adventure Time

This time in shirt form!

I was in Hot Topic today and spotted this:

It's an Adventure Time t-shirt featuring the gender-bent versions of the characters. Considering the original gender-bent episode contained this dress

And considering the shirt apparently was designed as an original illustration by the Adventure Time creator, I think it's pretty safe to say the reference was intentional.

I kind of really want this shirt. You can buy it online here

(also, did we already know that Uranus and Neptune have a shirt together? Or did I just miss it?)

Actually, the shirt (and the genderswap characters of Adventure Time) were not done by the original Adventure Time creator (Pendleton Ward), but one of the storyboard artists, Natasha Allegri: http://adventuretime.wikia.com/wiki/Natasha_Allegri

She posted the design of the shirt on her Twitter around SDCC time and I agree, it's so cute! I think it's def. Sailor Moon inspired (she is a Sailor Moon fan, after all <3) I wish I could get one of them, but Hot Topic's junior sizes do not fit me well. ;__; Le sigh.

Thanks for the tip! The Hot Topic description is lying then, lol!

Also, OMG you have led me to discover Natasha's tumblr, which is a thing of beauty. Thank you.

Haha, that doesn't surprise me much...Hot Topic's website managers probably don't have a clue...

Hey, no problem! I used to follow her back when she had an LJ , so I was really excited when she got work on such a cool show. I love her art!

Well, I didn't have any doubt, but that's cool she stated it, too.
